KONKAN RAILWAY TO IMPART TRAINING IN
SOFT SKILLS TO THE YOUTH

 
The global job environment is stiff and highly competitive which acts as a deterrent to many young aspirants to pursue their dreams. With varied fields of work specializations and little counselling of value, the dream of working at good posts in good organizations fritters away. In order to guide these young hopefuls in the right direction and hone their skills which will increase their employability prospects, Konkan Railway has decided to impart training to these young persons, commencing from 15th February, 2016 at its Community Hall at Konkan Railway Staff Colony near Udupi Railway Station under its CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) program. This is the first initiative under the aegis of ‘Ramakrishna Hegde Skills Development Centre’ of Konkan Railway.

Konkan Railway’s Chairman & Managing Director, Shri Sanjay Gupta, has decided to start the training program for the local youth along its railway route as per the vision of the Hon’ble Railway Minister, Shri Suresh Prabhu, for developing skills of the youth of Konkan region. The training is aimed at young people who have passed SSC, HSC, Diploma or Graduation.

Shri Sanjay Gupta will inaugurate the training on 15th February at the Community Hall. The training will be held on alternate days from 1700 – 1900 hrs at the venue. The training duration for the first batch would be from 15th Feb to 23rd March, 2016 (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and other government holidays). Dates for subsequent batches will be announced from time to time.

Konkan Railway will be imparting training on soft skills, like Spoken English, Interview techniques, Etiquettes, Communication skills, Neuro leadership, Art of writing Curriculum Vitae (Biodata) etc which will sharpen the interpersonal skills of the trainees, improve their personality and give them the cutting edge while appearing for interviews and working in teams. The training, however, shall not give a right to the trainee to demand a job in Konkan Railway.
