YEOMEN SERVICES BY KONKAN RAILWAY STAFF
An alone girl child aged 13 years was travelling by 12619 Matsyagandha Express on 26th October, 2012 without anybody accompanying her and the fear on her face of insecurity was noticed instantly by Shri Shantappa Bannappa Devar, Senior Passenger Assistant, who was working on the same train.
With his presence of mind and to provide necessary help to the child, he immediately contacted the Child Line 1098 Day & Night Services and the concerned officials of the Child Line immediately reached the Ratnagiri Railway station to take over the girl from Shri Shantappa Bannappa Devar.
The timely help rendered by Shri Devar was not only appreciated by the Child Line 1098 officials, but by all the passengers and public in general.
