KONKAN RAILWAY OBSERVES REMEMBRANCE DAY
Every year on the 14th October, Konkan Railway observes Remembrance Day in memory of the 95 persons who laid down their lives during the construction of Konkan Railway or on duty during the operations phase.

A Shram Shakti Smarak has been constructed in front of Ratnagiri station in the memory of these 95 persons. The Shakti Smarak is made of black granite with the names of all the 95 persons etched on it.

This year too, before commemorating its Silver Jubilee Celebrations on 15th October 2015,  Konkan Railway observed the Remembrance Day on 14th October 2015. The Chairman & Managing Director of Konkan Railway, Shri Bhanu P Tayal placed a wreath on the Smarak at Ratnagiri and a two minute silence was observed as a tribute.  Other Officers and staff of Konkan Railway were also present on the occasion.
