Taking into account the inconvenience and hardships being faced by the people staying in and around Kadwai in Maharashtra and at Innanje in Karnataka, Hon'ble Minister for Railways, Shri Suresh Prabhu has laid the Foundation Stone for Bhoomi Poojan at these Stations in order to make their dream come true for their comfortable journey on Konkan Railway Route.
 

KADWAI STATION:

This proposed New Kadwai Station is located between Sangameshwar & Aravali Road Stations at Km.163/000 in Sangameshwar Taluka, Ratnagiri District and will be constructed at a total cost of ` 9.75 Cr  which is likely to be completed within 24 months. The commissioning of this station will benefit about 25 villages in and around Kadwai Station.

INNANJE STATION:
This proposed New Innanje station is situated between Padubidri and Udupi of Konkan Railway at KM 701/2-5.  The station is situated on the outskirts of Udupi Corporation.  It is 2.5 km away from NH 66 taking diversion from Pangala. This Station will be constructed at a total cost of ` 11.34 Cr. Once this station is commissioned the same will serve Shankarapura, Subashnagar, Katpadi, Manchakal, Shirva, Paduvur villages.  At present the commuters at Innaje are dependent on Udupi Railway station for their conveyance to Mumbai, Bengaluru etc, for which they have to travel around 12 kms by road both by taxi / bus as there is no direct connectivity from Innanje to Udupi by bus.

With the construction of these two new stations, it will help in the development of these areas and will improve communication as well as connectivity amongst the adjoining villages, which will prove to be a great boon to the people residing in and around these locations.
