Hon’ble Minister for Railways, Shri Suresh Prabhu, has always been the source of inspiration and a guiding force for Konkan Railway not only in augmenting traffic facilities but also providing better Passenger Amenities to its travelling passengers. Konkan Railway has always been at the forefront for extending convenience & comfort to its passengers.
A. Inauguration of improved Passenger Amenities at various stations in Karwar Region.
Keeping in view the aims and objectives of Customer Satisfaction, Konkan Railway has initiated the action to improve the passenger amenities in the stations of Karwar Region.
Hon'ble Minister for Railways, Shri Suresh Prabhu has inaugurated the following improved passenger amenities in a function held at Karwar on 01/06/2017 :
1. Karwar station :
Improved surface on Platform No.1 by providing Kota stone and chequered tiles,
Improvement in the flooring of waiting room.
Renovation of toilets,
Provision of digital GPS Platform clock
Auto floor cleaning machine
2. Gokarna Station : Extension of platform.
Also 235 nos. CONCORD benches have been provided at various stations over Karwar region.
B. Hon'ble Minister for Railways initiated the work of Passenger Amenities at various stations in Karwar Region.
Hon'ble Minister has also initiated the work of passenger amenities at following stations:
1. Karwar Station:
Provision of drinking water facility and water pedestal on platform no.2.
Provision of two numbers of modular shelters on each platform.
improvement of circulating area and approach road.
2. Other stations of Karwar Region:
Provision of 200 numbers of CONCORD benches at various stations.
Provision of 188 nos. of stainless steel benches for waiting hall at various stations
Construction of waiting hall at Mulki station.
Renovation of toilets at Udupi, Suratkal, Gokarna, Ankola and Kumta stations.
Provision of 25 nos. of modular shelters at various stations.
Approximate cost of passenger amenities inaugurated and the work commenced for which function has been held, is ` 2.66 Crores.
