Konkan Railway is running 248 trips of special train during Ganesh festival 2017 in coordination with Central and western Railway from Mumbai/Pune/Manmad/ Ahmedabad to Ratnagiri/chiplun/sawanwadi/karmali/madgaon. In addition, during this festive season, there are 49 more regular trains are running on Konkan Route compare to last year. First time special train was run from Manmad to facilitate passengers of North Maharashtra. This year second class unreserved coaches are earmarked in all mixed class trains to cater needs of unreserved passengers.
Extra booking windows are opened at eight stations of Ratnagiri region to clear rush at booking counters. Reservation facility is also available at 07 Post Offices apart from PRS at 07 Stations. Station Ticket booking agency at 06 stations and Jan sadharan Ticket booking sevaks at three locations are also available to issue tickets. Intensive ticket checking will be carried out at stations and in trains .
All catering establishments are permitted to operate extra tables/mobile trolleys to cater  the needs of travelling passengers. All catering establishments are instructed to keep sufficient quantity of baby food, Janata Khana and drinking water at their stalls.
Medical check up booths are set up at important stations in coordination with state health authorities. Close coordination is kept with MSRTC and local transport for operating services from Railway station to City. Traffic Assistance booths are set up at important stations to reduce congestion of traffic.
