RPF staff of Konkan Railway were instrumental in securing valuable articles and lost belongings of passengers and handed them over to the rightful owners, earning appreciation from the affected passengers.

To prevent theft of Passenger belongings in Railway premises and trains, analysis of crime was done and most affected trains and stations were focussed. RPF regularly distributed Pamphlets among rail passengers for safety awareness.  

During the month of November 2017, Protection Force staff of Konkan Railway have taken action in 7 different incidences with arrest of criminals involved in the theft of passenger belongings, and valuables approximetly totalling of ` 2,48,146/- has been recovered & returned to the passengers. In addition valuables left behind by the passengers, approximetly totalling of ` 4,80,000/-  has been returned.

RPF has also been at the forefront of rescue of children found lost/ abandoned/ destitute etc at railway premises and in trains. Seven children were rescued due to the efforts of RPF personnel at various stations over Konkan Railway in the month of November 2017.
