Hon’ble Minister of Railways is focusing on enhancing the Railway services to achieve high quality passenger satisfaction. Konkan Railway in its continued efforts and dedicated approach to community has taken various initiatives by providing better facilities/amenities to the passengers.

Sawantwadi has become a prominent tourist destination in recent times, hence the number of tourists visiting this place has increased. The passengers traveling to and from Mumbai from Sawantwadi have also increased. Considering the influx of passengers alighting and deboarding at Sawantwadi Road station, stoppage at Sawantwadi Road station for Train no. 12051 / 12052 Dadar - Madgaon - Dadar Janshatabdi Express has been provided for the convenience of passengers. More than 7 lakh passengers who use Sawantwadi Road station annually will be benefited by this stoppage.

Shri Vinayak Raut, Hon'ble Member of Parliament inaugurated the stoppage to Train no.12051 / 12052 Dadar - Madgaon - Dadar Janshatabdi Express in a function held at Sawantwadi Road station at 13:00 hrs on 30/08/2019 in the august presence of Shri Deepak Kesarkar, Hon’ble Minister of State for Home (Rural), Finance and planning.
