With the announcement of proposed Kharepatan Station on the KR Route, the dream of the people staying in and around Kharepatan as well as surrounding areas will be fulfilled with the laying of Foundation Stone for the same by the Hon'ble Minister for Railways, Shri Suresh Prabhu. This was a long cherished dream of the people in Konkan Region.

This proposed Station is located between Rajapur & Vaibhavwadi at Km.275/700 in Kankavali Taluka and Sindhudurg District. This station will be constructed at a total cost of       ` 14.0 Cr and is likely to be completed within 24 months. The commissioning of this station will benefit almost 70 villages across two districts i.e. Sindhudurg and Ratnagiri and four Talukas i.e. Kankavali, Vaibhavwadi, Devgad and Rajapur. The construction of this new station will also help in improving communication and connectivity amongst the adjoining villages, which will be a great boon to the people residing in these areas.
