Under the able leadership of Shri Suresh Prabhu, Hon’ble Minister for Railways  various initiatives taken for the upliftment of Konkan Region by way of providing more and more passenger amenities over Konkan Railway which has facilitated in making the journey more comfortable.  Amongst the measures initiated by the Hon’ble Minister includes capacity enhancement of KRCL line, route electrification, construction of additional eleven new stations etc.  to name a few.

Now to ease the inconvenience and hardships being faced by the residents in and around Indapur, Sape Wamne in Raigad District and Veravali in Ratnagiri District, Hon'ble Minister for Railways, Shri Suresh Prabhu will lay the Foundation Stone for upgrading of these Halt Stations into a Crossing Station for a faster and comfortable journey on Konkan Railway Route thus making their dream become a reality.  Conversion of these halt station into a crossing station will also improve operations and throughput on Konkan Railway.
Indapur Road Halt Station, situated between Kolad and Mangaon stations at KM 23.86 in Raigad District and will be constructed as a full fledged Crossing Station at a total cost of ` 14.58 Cr. Sape Wamne Halt Station,  situated between Veer and Karanjadi stations at KM 55.00 in Raigad District and will be constructed as a full fledged Crossing Station at a total cost of ` 13.64 Cr. Veravali Halt Station, situated between Adavali and Vilavade stations at KM 245.23 in Ratnagiri District and will be constructed as a full fledged Crossing Station at a total cost of ` 15.03 Cr. These upgraded stations will be provided with various improvised passenger amenities such as waiting hall, current ticket booking counter, covered platform shelter etc.

Further, by the initiative of Hon'ble Minister for Railways, Shri Suresh Prabhu to facilitate the passengers of Kankavali and its vicinity, the upgraded station building of Kankavali station with extra passenger amenities will be also be inaugurated by the Hon’ble Minister.
