INTRODUCTION

Designed and built by Indian

engineers in a record time of seven

years through one of the most

beautiful landscapes in the country, I

am Konkan Railway. Let me take you

on a breathtaking journey of my route

through the rugged mountains, deep

valleys, emerald green paddy fields,

quiet villages and glistening rivers

joining the mighty sea. Heralding the

realization of a long-cherished dream

of the people of the Konkan region,

the achievement of my construction

effectively connected the

southwestern coast of India with the

rest of the country. This is the story of

my creation.
