About Vigilance

The Vigilance is an integral part of the Management function. The Vigilance Department at Corporate Office, Belapur handles all vigilance matters pertaining to the Corporation. We believe that with best practices, appropriate control and transparency in place, informed and professionally right decisions can be taken efficiently, effectively and consistently, for good corporate governance.

The Vigilance Department is headed by the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO), who is assisted by a Deputy Chief Vigilance Officer and a Senior Vigilance Officer. The department arranges vigilance seminars and training programmes for the benefit of the employees of Konkan Railway.

The CVO, on the basis of investigations carried out, provides advice to the Management to bring about qualitative improvement in the functioning of the Corporation. The CVO also acts as a link between the Corporation and agencies like the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), Railway Board, etc., on vigilance matters.

The major functions of the department include investigation of complaints, preventive vigilance through surprise inspections, surveillance and scrutiny of procurement and contract matters, Chief Technical Examiner (CTE) inspection reports, and coordination with CBI and Ministry of Railways.
