In terms of the instructions received from Ministry of Railways, Konkan Railway is observing “Rail Hamsafar Saptaah” from 26th May to 1st June 2016.

As a part of the same, inspections of Catering Establishments & Drinking Water Facilities at Stations, Trains and Pantry Cars were carried out by Heads of Departments, Regional Railway Managers and Field Officers to ensure that the same are hygienic, pure and sufficient for the consumption of our Esteemed Passengers. It was also ensured that the Rate Lists are also properly displayed at Station Premises and Catering Stalls as well as in Trains. Surprise Checks and Food Testing was also done by the Staff of Medical Department to ensure the same. The Base Kitchen Inspections were also carried out by these Officers to ensure that the food being prepared is quite hygienic and in proper order.

These inspections have proved to be fruitful in generating proper awareness amongst the Catering Staff to serve the Passengers in a better and satisfactory manner, as Konkan Railway believes in “Service with a Smile”.
