In terms of the instructions received from Ministry of Railways, Konkan Railway is observing “Rail Hamsafar Saptaah” from 26th May to 1st June 2016.

As a part of the same, “Sanyojan Diwas” is being observed today wherein Shri Sanjay Gupta, CMD/KRCL along with Regional Railway Manager / Karwar had meetings with ACC, Ultra Tech, SESA Goa, Maple Logistics  Pvt. Ltd., Goa Carbon Limited and Zuari Agro Chemicals Ltd at Madgaon on 30th May 2016  and also had meetings with HPCL, MCF, Aspin Wall & Co. Ltd., JBF Industries Ltd.,  BSF Chemical Industry, Alvares & Thomas Cochin Shipping Co.,  Raftar  Logistics, Mangalore  Refinery & Petrochemicals Limited and Udupi Power Corporation Limited  at Mangalore on 31st May 2016, to advise them about the various reforms and policy initiatives on the freight traffic side and to request them to make use of Konkan Railway Route for Freight Transportation, which is more convenient and economical. In this meeting, various issues pertaining to individual industry / customers were also addressed. Similarly a meeting was also held by Regional Railway Manager, Ratnagiri with JSW for improving the Freight Traffic on KR Route.

It is also pertinent to mention herein that Konkan Railway is running Roll On – Roll Off (RO-RO) Services on its route which is the unique service on Indian Railways. All out efforts are also being made to fetch more business through this service also as it is quite time-saving & pollution-free without any vehicular traffic jams, saving precious fuel of the Nation.
