Swaccha Bharat Mission is a Dream Come True National Project of our Hon'ble Prime Minister of India. In order to fulfil this dream, Konkan Railway, under the initiative and  guidance of Hon'ble Minister for Railways, Shri Suresh Prabhu, has formulated an Action Plan for Swachh Rail Swachh Bharat.  As a part of these Campaigns,  Swachhta Pakhwada is being organised on the Indian Railways including entire Konkan Railway Route at its Corporate Office at Navi Mumbai, Belapur as well as on the Regions from 16th to 31st August, 2017.

Rail Swachhta Pakhwada has begun today with a Swachhta Pledge by Konkan Railway Employees with a view to raise awareness amongst the Employees and their Families to ensure cleanliness in the vicinity of their habitat as well as at their work place. During this Swachhta Pakhwada,  Seminars on Sanitation and upkeep of Railway Stations as well as Cleanliness Campaigns involving NGOs, Charitable Institutions, Unions and all Employees will be undertaken. Various activities that are being undertaken include Swachhta Awareness, Swachhta Samvad with Public and In-house, Swachh Stations with intensive Cleanliness Drives, Swachh Railgaadi Campaigns, Swachh Parisar, Swachh Residential Premises including intensive drive to clean up garbages, Swachh Ahaar at all Canteens & Stations on the Konkan Railway Route as well as Pantry Cars of KR Trains to ensure clean and hygienic good quality of food is being served. In addition to this, Swachh Neer to ensure quality portable water at all Stations, Office Premises, Railway Colonies, Health Units etc is being ensured. As a part of this Campaign, Swachh Prasadan, intensive cleaning of toilet blocks, caoching depots, trains & surrounding areas as well as drainages has also been taken up. All these activities will be monitored personally by the Officers & Supervisory Staff of Konkan Railway with the active participation of its Employees to make this Campaign a Grand Success.

Swachhta Pakhwada Campaign was launched today with a great fervour all over Konkan Railway with a Swachhta Pledge which was administered by Shri Amitabh Banerjee, Director Finance at the Corporate Office of the Konkan Railway at Navi Mumbai, Belpaur, which was attended by all Officers and Staff. Similar Pledge and activities are also being undertaken by the Regional Railway Managers on the Konkan Railway Route in order to ensure that no stone is left unturned in achieving the aims and objectives of the noble cause of  Swachh Bharat Mission.
