“Paryatan Parv” is a unique initiative of the Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with other Central Ministries, State Governments and Stakeholders to boost tourism in the country.  The prime purpose of this initiative was to focus on the benefits of tourism. Cultural diversity of the country has also be put on display during this event. Another prime focus of this travel initiative is to underline the principle of ‘Tourism for All’.
Konkan Railway, under the initiative and guidance of Hon'ble Minister for Railways, Shri Piyush Goyal, has formulated an Action Plan for Paryatan Parv. As a part of these Campaigns, Paryatan Parv was organised on the Indian Railways including entire Konkan Railway Route from 5th to 25th October, 2017.
As a part of this Paryatan Parv various activities were organised on entire route of Konkan Railway. Madgaon, Karmali and Thivim station buildings were illuminated, also Paryatan Parv banners are displayed at prominent places on these stations during the “Paryatan Parv”. Nukkad natak was arranged at Madgaon Station in co-ordination with India Tourism and Institute of Hotel Management, Goa. Training session on “Etiquette and Communication” was organised for the front-line staff like Commercial Assts. TTEs, Station Masters, RPF/GRP including Porters, Taxi/auto drivers at Madgaon in             co-ordination with India Tourism.

Drawing competition on Tourism was conducted at Community Hall, Madgaon for the children of Konkan Railway staff. Live Music was arranged at Platforn No.1 of Madgaon station for the entertainment of passengers in co-ordination with the local musician of Goa. 30 Members of Siddhant Gadekar Dance Academy, Madgaon performed a Flash mob (dance) at Madgaon station. Cleanliness drive was conducted at Karmali station. Around 15 Pre-paid taxi drivers  along with the Konkan Railway staff participated in the drive.

All these activities were monitored personally by the Officers & Supervisory Staff of Konkan Railway with the active participation of its Employees and made this Campaign a Grand Success.
