Nation will be celebrating the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi commencing 2nd October, 2018. To suitably commemorate the occasion, Konkan Railway is organizing Swachhta-Hi-Sewa Pakhwara from 15th September 2018 to     2nd October 2018

Konkan Railway, under the initiative and guidance of Hon'ble Minister for Railways, Shri Piyush Goyal, has formulated an Action Plan to bring the quantum improvement in the cleanliness at the stations and trains.

Swachhta-Hi-Sewa Pakhwara will be begin with a Swachhta Pledge by Konkan Railway Employees with a view to raise awareness amongst the employees and their families to inculcate the habit of cleanliness in their routine life and work place. During this Swachhta Pakhwara, Seminars will be conducted on Sanitation and upkeep of Railway Stations. Cleanliness Campaigns at Konkan Railway stations will be undertaken duly involving the active participation & support of NGOs, Charitable trust/Institutions and other social organization like Rotary Club, Lions Club etc.

Various activities that are being undertaken during Pakhwara include Swachch Awareness, Swachch Samvad with Public and In-house, Swachh Stations with intensive Cleanliness Drives, Swachh Railgaadi,  Swachh Parisar  including intensive drive to clean up garbages, Swachh Ahar at all Canteens & Pantry Cars  to ensure clean and hygienic good quality food is being served to the passengers and Swachh Neer to ensure quality potable water at all Stations.

As a part of this Campaign, Swachch Prasadan  will also be observed to ensure the intensive cleaning of toilet blocks at stations and trains.  All these activities will be monitored personally by the Officers & Supervisory Staff of Konkan Railway with the active participation of its employees to make this Campaign a Grand Success.
