Minister of Railways is focusing on enhancing the services at Railway stations to achieve high quality passenger satisfaction. Konkan Railway in its continued efforts and dedicated approach to community has taken various initiatives by providing more and more facilities/amenities to the passengers.
Goa is one of the premium tourist destination in the country. Considering the influx of passengers, Konkan Railway has initiated an action by way of improvement in passenger amenities & Railway Infrastructure. Keeping in view the aims and objectives of customer satisfaction, Hon'ble Union Minister of State for Ayush, Shri Shripad Naik has laid foundation stone  for construction of Butterfly Platform Shelter on platform no. 2 with Kota stone flooring at an estimated cost of `1.0 Crore under the MPLAD scheme at Thivim station at 17:00 hrs  on 29/01/2019. New platform shelter will provide better protection from the sun & rain to the passengers awaiting for train.
Further, considering the long pending demands of the people, Hon'ble Union Minister of State for Ayush, Shri Shripad Naik and Hon'ble Shri Narendra Sawaikar, Member of Parliament, South Goa has also inaugurated  stoppage to Train no 12133 / 12134 Mumbai CSMT – Mangaluru Jn. - Mumbai CSMT Express in a function held at Karmali station at 19:15 hrs on 29/01/2019 at Karmali station for  the convenience of passengers.
