Konkan Railway in its continued efforts and dedicated approach to community has taken various initiatives by providing better facilities/amenities to the passengers. Infrastructure and quality passenger service is key for improved passenger satisfaction. Hon'ble Minister of Railways Shri Piyush Goyal is taking various initiatives to improve Railway services and amenities for the benefit of the railway passengers.
Hon'ble Minister of Railways hold a meeting of Konkan Railway on 01st September 2019 at Mumbai. Hon'ble Minister chaired the meeting on performance review of Konkan Railway with Chairman and Managing Director Shri Sanjay Gupta along with Directors & Head of the Departments of Konkan Railway. CMD, Konkan Railway, outlined an action plan of the Corporation in a brief presentation.
During the meeting, Hon'ble Minister reviewed the performance of Konkan Railway with respect to Safety in train operation, Punctuality, Financial Progress, Security of Passenger, Passenger Amenities, Catering, Station Housekeeping, Progress of ongoing projects i.e. Roha-Veer Doubling, Construction of additional stations and loop line, Electrification of Konkan Railway route, Port & hinterland connectivity along the Konkan Railway route. He also reviewed the futuristic plans of Konkan Railway an the projects in pipeline for the development and betterment of Konkan Region i.e. Maharastra, Goa, Karnataka & Kerala. Hon’ble Minister also reviewed the progress of Chenab bridge in Udhampur, Srinagar, Baramulla Rail link project in Jammu & Kashmir state. Hon’ble MR has appreciated the catering services being provided to the passengers of Konkan kanya and Mandovi Express.
Working of “Automated Train Examination System” and “Flood level warning system” safety devices developed by Konkan Railway to enhance the safety in train operation along with “Automatic Coach Washing Plant” was discussed during the review meeting.
Hon'ble Minister expressed his satisfaction on performance of the Konkan Railway Corporation and assured all necessary support from Ministry of Railways.
