Quality infrastructure and amenities are the keys for improved passenger satisfaction. Konkan Railway is focusing on enhancing the services and infrastructure to achieve high quality passenger satisfaction.

To augment the capacity of the line & to reduce bottlenecks, Konkan Railway has taken up the project for “Construction of 10 new stations & 8 Loop Lines” at various places over its route.

As a part of this Capacity Augmentation work, Konkan Railway has commissioned Loop Line no. 2 at Anjani Railway station on 01/10/2019. Anjani station is situated between Khed and Chiplun station of Ratnagiri Section. The work of inserting the new loop line started at 18:00 hrs and first train Janshatabdi Express passed Anjani station at 21:30 hrs. The successful commissioning of this new loop line was completed in minimum possible time. It was the outcome of concentrated efforts of more than 200 persons including workers, supervisors and officers. The loop line has been constructed at the cost of `2.25 crore. By this newly commissioned loop line, train crossing capacity at Anjani station will increase and this will also improve the efficiency in train operations.

This is the fifth new loop line that Konkan Railway has commissioned since February 2019. Other four were commissioned at Savarda, Rajapur, Murdeshwar and Vaibhavwadi Road stations.
