Duty List of the Dy. CVO

  1. Undertake prompt investigation of authenticated complaints with special emphasis on Presidential & PMO references, CA-III references, CVC referred complaints, media complaints, and serious complaints involving malafide intent.
  2. Organize and conduct checks with follow-up investigations on serious irregularities in assigned departments.
  3. Arrange regular and surprise inspections at sensitive work units susceptible to corruption.
  4. Coordinate intensive examination of works.
  5. Monitor and investigate complaints received through e-mail.
  6. Prepare draft charge sheets in vigilance-related cases accurately and without loopholes.
  7. Follow up progress of DAR cases arising from vigilance actions.
  8. Oversee prompt submission of returns to CVC and Railway Board Vigilance.
  9. Maintain liaison with Railway Board Vigilance, CVC, and CBI.
  10. Review existing rules and procedures to plug loopholes and recommend systemic improvements.
  11. Maintain surveillance on officials of doubtful integrity and those on Agreed and Secret Lists.
  12. Promote vigilance awareness through bulletins, seminars, workshops, and lectures.
  13. Assist the CVO in preparing Agreed and Secret Lists.
  14. Monitor implementation of technology initiatives.
  15. Process vigilance clearances of officers and employees.
  16. Take prompt action regarding court cases.
  17. Develop a system for collecting intelligence on malpractices.
  18. Scrutinize Parliamentary Committee reports, Audit Reports, Parliament proceedings, media reports, and property statements.
  19. Ensure timely completion of investigations and submission of reports within prescribed timelines.
  20. Conduct Vigilance Awareness Week activities and publish vigilance e-magazine.
  21. Monitor annual vigilance targets.
  22. Perform any other duties assigned by the CVO.
  23. Monitor complaints received through Online VCMS and Offline modes until logical conclusion.
