About the Programme

The Advanced Tunnelling Technology Programme (ATTP) is a flagship training initiative of Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd (KRCL), conducted in partnership with the world’s leading educational and research institutions — VersuchsStollen Hagerbach (VSH), Switzerland; ETH Zurich; and IIT Bombay.

The program is designed as a transformative learning experience for senior leaders, offering a highly structured and immersive approach. The ATTP is a short-duration hybrid program that includes:

  • 4 days of classroom training at Goa
  • 4 days of study and site visits in Switzerland and Austria

The course aims to broaden participants’ understanding of core and critical tunnelling issues such as: deciding the most optimized route, importance of environmental impact assessment, detailed planning, framing of contract terms (FIDIC), and key strategies to prevent cost and time escalations.

Programme Objectives

This program is designed to address the existing gaps in the tunnelling sector and to equip senior leaders, officials, policy makers, and decision makers with the necessary insights and knowledge to make informed decisions and achieve better business outcomes. It also helps participants upgrade their technical skills with exposure to cutting-edge global tunnelling technologies.
