KONKAN RAILWAY UPDATE
Some of the trains on Konkan Railway Route got affected due to loaded LPG Tanker blast at National Highway No. 66 on Gokarna – Kumta Section at Kms 545 / 6-7 at about 5:45 Hrs on date i.e. 1st September 2015. As a result the following trains were regulated :
01. Train No. 12619 Matsyagandha Express at Gokarna Station from 05:30 Hrs to 08:00 Hrs (Total Detention : Two Hours and Five Mins)
02. Train No. 12201 Lokmanya Tilak – Kochuveli Garib Rath Express at Harwada Station from 07:00 Hrs to 08:00 Hrs (Total Detention : One Hour) and at Ankola Station from 08:23 Hrs to 09:09 Hrs (Total Detention : Forty Six Mins)
03. Train No. 16516 Dn Karwar – Yeshwantpur Express at Ankola Station from 06:04 Hrs to 08:10 Hrs (Total Detention : Two Hrs and Six Mins)
04. Train No. 70105 Dn Bhatkal – Thokur Passenger at Karwar Station from 07:02 Hrs to 08:06 Hrs ( Total Detention : One Hr and Three Mins) and at Ankola Station from 08:40 Hrs to 09:35 Hrs (Total Detention : Fifty Five Mins)
Though the traffic clearance was given between Gokarna and Kumta at 07:57 Hrs, Train Nos. 12201 Lokmanya Tilak – Kochuveli Garib Rath Express and 70105 Dn Bhatkal – Thokur Passenger were stopped by the Local Police at Ankola Station due to grass catching fire on the section at 08:28 Hrs. However, Train Nos. 12619 Dn Matsyagandha Express and 16516 Dn Karwar – Yeshwantpur Express had already passed through the Section.
Finally the Traffic Clearance Certificate was given at 09:23 Hrs and the train services have now been restored back to normalcy. Inconvenience caused to the travelling passengers on this account is deeply regretted.
