Anji Bridge
Overview
The Anji Khad Bridge, built by Konkan Railway, is India’s first cable-stayed railway bridge, located in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. This engineering marvel spans 473 meters across the Anji River, a tributary of the Chenab. The bridge is part of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link project and was designed to withstand the region’s challenging terrain and seismic activity. With a single pylon rising 331 meters and 96 cables supporting the deck, it enhances connectivity to the Kashmir Valley, playing a crucial role in improving trade, travel, and defense logistics in the area. The salient feature of Anji Bridge : Total Length of Main bridge is 473.25 m and Total Length of Ancillary viaduct Configuration is 120.00 m , Height of Single Pylon 193 m from top of foundation and Cable length 82-295 m.
