Passengers Apprehended for Unauthorised Alarm Chain Pulling on Train No. 12742
To ensure safe and punctual train operations, Konkan Railway has been closely monitoring rampant instances of Alarm Chain Pulling (ACP) reported on Train No. 12742 Patna–Vasco Express. In order to curb the ACP cases, an ambush check was organised by Konkan Rly RPF in between Madgaon & Thivim on 01/12/25, There was ACP at outer signal of Karmali station & a large number of people unauthorisedly deboarded the train in between section.
RPF Team consisting of 15 officers & staff effectively caught hold 31 persons including their leader who committed ACP. All were detained & taken to Madgaon RPF Post for due procedure of arrest & production before Hon'ble JMFC, Madgaon, for the offence committed under section 141,145 & 147 of Railway Act. Hon’ble JMFC, Madgaon imposed a fine of ₹1100/- on the leader and ₹600/- on the remaining offenders along with TRC in default simple Imprisonment for 03 days.
The check has not only conveyed the severity in public for not taking alarm chain pulling as granted but left a deterrent effect of consequences of deboarding train in between sections in case of chain pulling even by co-passengers.
Konkan Railway reiterates that unauthorised Alarm Chain Pulling is a punishable offence. Such acts lead to avoidable delays, operational inconvenience, and potential safety risks for all passengers on board.
Konkan Railway shall continue to organise such ambush checks in the ACP affected sections to maintain punctuality & better services to Bonafide passengers.
