Elderly Passenger Safely Reunited – Prompt Action by Konkan Railway RPF
On 4th December, a 75-year-old passenger travelling by Train No. 19577 Tirunelveli - Jamnagar Express was safely reunited with his family after he mistakenly alighted at Chiplun.
His son immediately lodged a complaint on Rail Madad, following which RPF Konkan Railway launched a swift and coordinated search. At Chiplun, an RPF patrol team noticed an elderly man walking aimlessly on the platform, exhibiting visible disorientation and confusion. The staff approached him, engaged in careful conversation, and quickly realised that he had inadvertently got off the train and was unable to articulate his destination.
After cross-verifying the details with the Rail Madad complaint, the team contacted his family and ensured a smooth and respectful handover.
The family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the RPF for their timely and professional assistance. The incident underscores the effectiveness of Konkan Railway’s prompt digital reporting, coordinated field response, and the vital role of the Rail Madad platform in safeguarding elderly and vulnerable passengers.
