SHE-Box Portal Strengthens Access to Workplace Grievance Redressal
Ensuring a safe, dignified, and inclusive work environment for women remains a key priority under India’s statutory and institutional framework. In this context, the Government of India has introduced the SHE-Box (Sexual Harassment Electronic Box) Portal “https://shebox.wcd.gov.in/” as a centralized digital mechanism to strengthen access to workplace grievance redressal.
Launched by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, the portal serves as a centralized, nationwide repository for complaints and related information. Complaints submitted through SHE-Box are monitored at the Ministry level and forwarded to the concerned Internal Committees for examination and action in accordance with the provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.
Konkan Railway believes that awareness of statutory safeguards and digital grievance redressal mechanisms such as the SHE-Box portal is essential for strengthening workplace safety and ensuring dignity, equality, and fairness for women employees. Sharing information about such initiatives contributes to informed participation and reinforces institutional accountability.
The availability of the SHE-Box portal complements existing mechanisms and enhances transparency in grievance redressal. Over one lakh public and private establishments across the country have already been onboarded onto the portal, reflecting its wide acceptance and relevance.
