Timely Intervention Prevents Mishap at Panvel Station

A potentially serious incident was averted at Panvel station on January 29, 2026, due to the alertness of passengers and the prompt response of railway staff.

While Train no. 22629 Dadar–Tirunelveli Express was halted at Panvel station, a passenger lost his balance while boarding the general compartment and fell into the gap between the platform and the train. Co-passengers immediately raised an alarm, drawing the attention of railway staff.

Upon receiving the information, KRCL Travelling Ticket Examiner Shri Mahesh Kamble promptly informed the on-duty guard. The guard, along with TTE’s Shri Mahesh Kamble and Shri Ajit Parab, rushed to the spot and safely rescued the passenger.

The passenger was administered first aid at the site. The on-duty Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel were informed, and arrangements were made to shift the passenger to a hospital for further medical examination.

Due to the swift and coordinated response, a major mishap was successfully averted, and the passenger was saved from serious injury.
