Swift Action by Railway Staff Foils Theft on 11004 Tutari Express; Accused Handed Over to RPF Panvel

Konkan Railway (KRCL) successfully detected a theft case onboard Train No. 11004 Tutari Express through the alertness and prompt action of its staff.

On 16.02.2026 at approximately 04:30 hrs, after the train crossed Roha station, two individuals were noticed behaving suspiciously in Coach S2 while ticket checking was being carried out in Coaches S2, S3, and S4 by Shri. Sachin Savekar, TTE / Ratnagiri, acting promptly on suspicion and with the support of alert co-passengers, the individuals were apprehended and separated for further inquiry.

During questioning, it was established that the accused had stolen a handbag belonging to a female passenger. On verification, the following stolen articles were recovered:

  • One Mangalsutra
  • Two sets of earrings
  • Cash amounting to ₹4,750/-
  • One mobile phone
    (One ring reported by the passenger could not be recovered.)

The accused persons were handed over to the Railway Protection Force (RPF) at Panvel for further legal action.

In appreciation of the vigilance, presence of mind, and dedication displayed in detecting the offence and ensuring passenger safety, Shri Santosh Kumar Jha, Chairman & Managing Director / KRCL has sanctioned a cash reward of ₹10,000/- to Mr. Sachin Savekar, TTE / RN.

Konkan Railway reiterates its firm commitment to passenger safety and security. Passengers are advised to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious activity to railway staff or RPF personnel.
