Personnel Department is the backbone of the Konkan Railway Organization dealing with the service matters and welfare measures of its employees for their overall growth, right from their recruitment stage. It provides the requisite manpower for upkeep, maintenance and smooth working of various departments of the Railway system keeping up the Corporate Culture.

Responsibilities and functions involve - induction of new talent into the Organization, i.e. recruitment in various departments keeping in view its recruitment policy for landlosers, imparting requisite training to its employees to enhance their skills and capabilities for professional excellence and project management, framing promotion policies for their career progression, introduction of various staff welfare measures, exploring their hidden talent in sports & cultural activities, providing better working facilities and social security, redressing staff grievances, ensuring harmonious industrial relations, judicious manpower planning with multi-skilling, compliance of Hours of Employment Regulations and policy guidelines received from Ministry of Railways and Department of Public Enterprises from time to time.
