Good News for Passengers, Konkan Railway Corporation Limited is pleased to announce an additional halt at Nandgaon Road for its recently launched Ro-Ro Car Transportation Service between Kolad (Maharashtra) and Verna (Goa). This initiative aims to further enhance convenience and accessibility for passengers along the coastal route of Maharashtra.

With this addition, passengers can now load and unload their car at Nandgaon Road, making the journey more flexible and user-friendly for car owners. The stop has been introduced in response to public demand and feedback from passengers.

The freight charges and revised timing for the RORO services for transportation of cars will now be as under:  

Registration for booking of cars for the Ro-Ro Car Transportation Service is extended till 17:00 hrs on 18th August 2025.

Freight charges : 

Kolad – Verna: Rs.7875/- per car (including 5% GST)

Kolad – Nandgaon: Rs.5460/-pe car (including GST)

A registration fee of ₹4,000/- per car (inclusive of 5% GST) will be applicable, with the balance freight to be paid at the journey originating station on the day of travel. 

Each service will have a carrying capacity of up to 40 cars (2 cars per wagon). In the event that the total bookings received by 18th August 2025 are fewer than 16 cars per trip, the service will not be operated and the registration fee will be refunded.

Once the cars are loaded onto the Ro-Ro train, neither the driver nor any co-passenger will be permitted to travel inside the vehicle. The occupants of the car shall travel in the passenger coach (3AC and 2S sitting) attached with the RORO train, by paying prescribed passenger fare. A maximum of 3 passengers (2 pax in 3AC class and 1 pax in 2S class) will be permitted against each car booking. Additional passengers, if any, will be permitted only if there are vacant berths/seats in the coaches attached.
