Konkan Railway, with a strong focus on its dedication to passenger safety and reliable services, added another milestone today with the inauguration of the Government Railway Police (GRP) Police Station at Ratnagiri Railway Station.

The event was held on 25.08.2025 in the virtual presence of Shri Prashant Burade, Director General / GRP (Maharashtra) and Shri Santosh Kumar Jha, Chairman and Managing Director, Konkan Railway.

The occasion was also attended by Shri Nitin Bagate / Superintendent of Police (Ratnagiri), Shri Shailesh Bapat / Regional Railway Manager (Ratnagiri), Ms. Pradnya Jedge / Deputy Commissioner of Railway Police, Ms. Neelima Kulkarni / Assistant Commissioner / Railway Police and Shri Praveen Padvi / Police Inspector. 

At present, 50 police personnel and 109 home guards are deployed at the station to ensure the safety and security of passengers.

The establishment of this GRP Police Station is yet another step by Konkan Railway to enhance safety and security measures for passengers traveling across its network.
