Overview
Railway Rolling Stock Component Factory in Chiplun
KRCL has been awarded a ₹402 crore project for the construction of a state-of-the-art, Green Platinum-rated Rolling Stock Component Factory in Chiplun for Central Railway.
A financial progress of ₹296 crore was achieved during the financial year 2022-23.
Electrification
Overview
Route electrification of Roha Thokur section
Electrification of entire Konkan Railway route of 740 km/970 TKM was completed in March 2022 at a cost of Rs 1287 crore. This will lead to higher operational efficiency, lower unit cost of transportation and significant savings in fuel expenditure i.e. approximately 70% reduction in cost other than burning of fossil fuels.
Roha Veer track doubling
Overview
Roha – Veer Doubling
The doubling work of Roha-Veer section was completed at a cost of INR 590 crore and was commissioned on 30th August 2021 for traffic. Indapur station was commissioned as a new Crossing Station on 28th February 2022 an Goregaon Road station was commissioned on 18th March 2022. The Commercial Operation Date (COD) of the project was declared as 26 January 2022.
