Hon’ble Railway Minister Shri Suresh Prabhu orders Konkan Railway to render necessary assistance to the State Government in the rescue operation of the bridge collapsed near Mahad in Raigad district on the Mumbai-Goa highway in Maharashtra late last night because of heavy rain.

Konkan Railway has rushed its rescue team to assist the State Government rescue operation at Mahad by providing men and material inclusive of Self-Propelled Accident Relief Medical Van (SPARMV) and Accident Relief Train (ART), Doctor and Medical team, Mechanical Rescue Team and Engineering Rescue Team. Konkan Railway officials are constantly in touch with the control room set up by the State Government at Mahad.

This has been initiated at the instruction of Hon’ble Railway Minister Shri Suresh Prabhu.
