Good news for passengers !! In view of recent decision taken by Government of India to promote cashless transactions / Payment through electronic means, Konkan Railway has decided to install Point of Sale (POS) machines at various locations  to allow cashless transaction using Debit / Credit cards.
To facilitate the passengers 13 POS machines are installed at Public Reservation System (PRS) locations viz. Khed, Chiplun, Sawantwadi Road, Ratnagiri, Kudal, Kankavli, Thivim, Karmali, CBO/PJ (Panaji Booking Office), Madgaon, Karwar, Mookambika Road Byndoor and Udupi on Konkan Railway w.e.f. 20/12/16 in Ist phase with the help of IDFC bank . This facility will be further extended on other locations like Current ticket booking windows, parcel offices etc. wherever there is cash transaction.
Apart from this, Cashless Transaction is  already functioning on Konkan Railway for RORO  service  at Kolad, Verna & Suratkal through Closed User  Group Card (CUG).
