Enhancement in carrying capacity of wagons for RORO service over Konkan Railway
Konkan Railway’s Roll-on Roll-off (Ro-Ro) services, introduced in January 1999, is a unique and cost-effective freight solution that enables loaded trucks to be transported directly on railway wagons, reducing fuel consumption, driver fatigue, road congestion and carbon emissions. This service is currently operated on Konkan Railway route, offering a seamless and efficient logistics alternative to truck movement through the challenging Western Ghats terrain.

Konkan Railway Marks the Completion of Special Campaign 5.0 with Emphasis on Clean, Safe and Passenger-Centric Operations
Konkan Railway successfully concluded Special Campaign 5.0, organised by the Ministry of Railways from 16th September to 31st October 2025, aimed at strengthening cleanliness, promoting public participation, improving service delivery, and reinforcing a culture of responsibility across railway premises. The campaign was implemented in two phases, focused cleanliness activities followed by intensified public outreach and feedback-driven engagement.

Shri Rajeev Kumar Mishra joined as Director (Way & Works), Konkan Railway
Shri Rajeev Kumar Mishra has joined as Director (Way & Works), Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd. on 01/10/2025. He is an IRSE officer of 1992 Batch. Prior to joining KRCL, he was the Chief Track Engineer of Central Railway.
He has studied B.E.(Civil) at IIT Roorkee, M.Tech (Building Science & Construction Management) at IIT Delhi, Masters in Financial Management (MFM) at JBIMS, Mumbai and LLB at Mumbai University.

As notified by South Western Railway, the following train is Rescheduled due to Cyclone MONTHA. Train no. 18048 Vasco Da Gama - Shalimar Express, journey commences on 28/10/2025 is rescheduled to leave Vasco Da Gama at 12:00 hrs (Scheduled departure at 06:30 hrs).
