KRCL & DMRC MOU

Overview

KRCL & Delhi Metro Rail Corporation(DMRC) signed an MoU to collaborate on metro rail projects in India & abroad serving as Project Service Providers for various infrastructure projects.MoU was signed by Sh Santosh Kumar Jha,CMD/KRCL & Dr. P.K Garg, Dir.(Business Development)/DMRC.

Roll On Roll Off Services

Overview

Introduction of 'Roll-On/Roll-Off' service has been a win-win situation for Konkan Railways, Road Transporters and the Nation.One to two hours of terminal detention coupled with 100% loaded traffic in both directions has resulted in better Financial returns for Konkan Railway.'Roll-on/Roll-off service was started over Konkan Railway in 1999.This service is being operated between Kolad-Verna,Verna-Surathkal and Kolad- Surathkal Stations.

Running of Special Trains Between Yesvantpur / Mysuru Jn. & Karwar

Good News for Passengers!!! It has been decided to run following special  trains to clear the extra rush of passengers during the Dussehra Festival 2024. Details are as under.

1) Train no. 06569 / 06570 Yesvantpur - Karwar - Mysuru Jn. Express Special :

Train No. 06569 Yesvatpur - Karwar Express Special will leave from Yesvantpur at 00:30 hrs on 11/10/2024. Train will reach Karwar at 16:15 hrs on the same day.

Swachhata Hi Sewa Pakhwara- 2024 on Konkan Railway

Swachhata Hi Sewa," a two-week-long cleanliness awareness campaign, was observed across Konkan Railway from 17th September to 2nd October 2024, culminating in the celebration of Mahatma Gandhi's Jayanti. This campaign focuses on promoting cleanliness and sustainability within the railway ecosystem, reinforcing Konkan Railway's commitment to maintaining a clean and green environment for passengers and employees alike.

Short Termination of Trains at Thane & Dadar station

It has been decided by Central Railway to extend the short termination of the following trains at Thane & Dadar station upto 31/12/2024 due to extension work of Platform no. 12 & 13  at Mumbai CSMT. Repercussion to train services are as under:

  1. Train no. 12134 Mangaluru Jn. -  Mumbai CSMT Express will be short terminated at Thane station upto 31/12/2024.

  2. Train no. 22120 Madgaon Jn. - Mumbai CSMT Tejas Express will be short terminated at Dadar station upto 31/12/2024.

RAILWAY ROLLING STOCK COMPONENT FACTORY

Overview

KRCL has been awarded an INR 402 crore project of construction of Green Platinum rated state-of-art Rolling Stock Component factory at Chiplun for Central Railway.  The project is nearing completion.

MULTI-MODAL LOGISTICS

Overview

In collaboration with Konkan Railway, CONCOR has set up a first of its kind Multi-Modal Logistics Park at Balli station in Goa. Constructed at a cost of INR 40 crore, this facility was made operational by CONCOR in April 2018, for which land of 84,800 Square Meters was provided by Konkan Railway. Custom Bonded Warehousing facility of 2500 square meters with value added services like stuffing, repacking etc are available for its users at this logistics park. This logistics park handles both Domestic and Exim container traffic as well as transportation of commodities by both open and covered wagons.

ROHA - VEER DOUBLING

Overview

The doubling work of the Roha - Veer section was completed at a cost of INR 590 crore and was commissioned on 30th August 2021 for traffic. Indapur station was commissioned as a new Crossing Station on 28th February 2022 and Goregaon road station was commissioned on 18th March 2022.  The Commercial Operation Date (COD) of the project was declared as 26 January 2022.

REVAMPING KENYA'S RAIL NETWORK

Overview

Expanding its global footprint, Konkan Railway has partnered with M/s. Tata Chemicals Limited for the Rehabilitation of Railway Systems in Magadi, Kenya.  Following its success in Nepal, this marks Konkan Railway's inaugural project on the African continent. The comprehensive agreement covers consultancy for system upgradation of the existing meter gauge Railway, implementation of rehabilitation schemes including supply of locomotives and rolling stock and potential long-term operation and maintenance for the Magadi-Konza Meter Gauge Railway System in Kenya.
