Position of Trains on Konkan Railway route

The following passenger carrying trains have been cancelled / short terminated / diverted following the derailment of only 5 wagons out of 41 wagons of an empty Goods train between Ukshi and Sangameshwar stations at 0810 hrs today on Konkan Railway route. Refund will be given to passengers for cancelled / terminated trains. Trans-shipment is being arranged for passengers for a few trains. The details are as below:

KONKAN RLY TRACK RESTORED

Train services resume

The railway track at Ukshi – Sangameshwar section on Konkan Railway route, which was affected following derailment of 5 wagons of an empty Goods train yesterday morning, has been restored. The derailed wagons were removed from the section at 0440 hrs today morning and track fit certificate was issued at 0650 hrs. With this, the train services have been resumed in the section.

Summer Special Trains on Konkan Railway Route

Good news for passengers !! It has been decided to run a Special weekly Express trains between Lokmanya Tilak (T)- Ernakulam – Lokmanya Tilak (T) and Lokmanya Tilak (T) – Kochuveli – Lokmanya (T) via Konkan Railway route to cater to the extra rush of passengers during summer season.

1) Lokmanya Tilak (T)- Ernakulam – Lokmanya Tilak (T)

Known for its efficient management practices and appreciated for the same by the World Bank in the past, Konkan Railway has recently been rated “Excellent” for its Corporate Governance by the Department of Public Enterprises (DPE). The rating is for the year 2012-13 and is based on degree of compliance to guidelines issued by DPE on Corporate Governance. The financial year 2013-14 also saw augmentation in various passenger amenities on the Konkan Railway route as well as in earnings.

SPECIAL TRAINS FOR GUDI PADVA FESTIVAL ON

KONKAN RLY ROUTE

Good news for passengers !! In order to cater to the train passengers going to Konkan region for the Gudi Padva festival, reserved special trains will be run between CSTM and Madgaon on Konkan Railway route on 29/3/2014.

Train no. 01005 CSTM – Madgaon special train will leave from CSTM at 0020 hrs and reach Madgaon at 1240 hrs same day.

Train no. 01006 Madgaon – CSTM special train will leave from Madgaon at 1330 hrs and reach CSTM at 2355 hrs same day.

Extra coaches for Janshatabdi Exp during March

Good news for passengers !! It has been decided to temporarily augment Train no. 12051/12052 Dadar – Madgaon – Dadar Janshatabdi Express. Apart from this experimental halt will be provided to Train no. 22113/22114 LTT-Kochuveli Exp at Bhatkal station on Konkan Railway route.

Two additional second class Chair Car coaches and One additional A.C Chair Car coach will be attached to Train no. 12051/12052 Dadar – Madgaon – Dadar Janshatabdi Express from 01/03/2014 to 31/03/2014.

Experimental halt for 2 trains at Udupi

Good news for passengers !!Railway Board has decided to provide halt for Train no. 12483 / 12484 Amritsar – Kochuveli Exp and Train no. 12288 / 12287 Dehradun – Kochuveli Express at Udupi station on an experimental basis for a period of 3 months w.e.f 5/3/2014 to 4/6/2014.

Train no. 12484 Amritsar-Kochuveli Exp will halt at Udupi at 0110 hrs and Train no. 12483 Kochuveli – Amritsar Exp will halt at Udupi station at 2144 hrs.

SUMMER SPECIALS ON KONKAN RAILWAY ROUTE

Good news for passengers !! Special (AC) train between LTT and Karmali will be run weekly from 3/4/2014 to 5/6/2014 on Konkan Railway route to cater to the rush of passengers to Konkan route during summer season.

Train no. 01001 LTT – Karmali (AC) reserved special will run on Thursdays and leave from LTT at 0055 hrs and reach Karmali at 1100 hrs same day.

Train no. 01002 Karmali – LTT (AC) reserved special will run on Thursdays and leave from Karmali at 1400 hrs and reach LTT at 0020 hrs next day.

NEW HAZRAT NIZAMUDDIN – THIRUVANANTHAPURAM TRAIN VIA KONKAN RAILWAY ROUTE

Good news for passengers !! The Ministry of Railways has decided to introduce a new weekly Superfast express train between Hazrat Nizamuddin and Thiruvananthapuram via Konkan Railway route.

Train no. 22633 will leave from Thiruvananthapuram on every Wednesday at 1445 hrs w.e.f 5/3/2014 and reach Hazrat Nizamuddin on Friday at 1420 hrs.
