As the monsoon is set to arrive in Konkan region, Konkan Railway has completed all its planned safety works on its route from KOLAD (after Roha station of Central Railway) to THOKUR (before Mangalore station), and is geared up for the monsoon. Special attention has been laid catch water drain cleaning and inspection of cuttings. As a result of the large scale geo-safety works executed along the railway line in last 10 years, the incidents of boulder fall and soil slip have significantly reduced, thus ensuring safe running of trains.

Good news for passengers !! It has been decided to run AC Reserved Special  Trains between  Lokmanya Tilak Terminus  - Mangalore Junction – Lokmanya Tilak Terminus  to clear extra rush of passengers in co-ordination with Central Railway. Details of train services are given as under :-

Good news for passengers !! It has been decided to provide commercial halt to Train No. 12618 / 12617 Hazarat Nizamuddin – Ernakulam – Hzarat Nizamuddin Mangala Lakshdweep Express on Experimental basis w.e.f 28.05.2016 for Six months. Accordingly, the timings of the commercial Stoppages of the train passing through Konkan Railway are as under :-

Special trains for Holi festival by Konkan Rly

Good news for passengers !! Konkan Railway will be running special train for Holi festival between Madgaon – Mumbai CST – Madgaon to clear extra rush of passengers. Details are as under:

Train no. 00112/00111 Madgaon – Mumbai CST – Madgaon (Reserved Special)

Train no. 00112 Madgaon – Mumbai CST special will run on 08/03/2015. It will leave from Madgaon at 1600 hrs and reach CSTM at 0615 hrs next day.

KONKAN RLY LEADS THE ‘SWACHH RAIL – SWACHH BHARAT’ CAMPAIGN

Hon’ble Minister for Railways, Shri Suresh Prabhu, emphasized ‘Swachh Rail – Swachh Bharat’ in his Budget Speech. Konkan Railway has launched a scheme to collect the waste/garbage from Pantry Cars of all trains plying on KR route.

In order to encourage pantry car operators, Konkan Railway is launching an incentive scheme, whereby the Pantry Car Managers will be paid Rs.50 per bag of 20 Kg garbage.

PERMANENT AUGMENTATION OF TRAINS

Good news for passengers !! An additional 3-tier AC coach will be attached to the following trains on permanent basis. Details are as under :

1) One additional 3-tier AC coach to Train no. 22113 LTT-Kochuveli Exp w.e.f 17/3/2015.

2) One additional 3-tier AC coach to Train no. 22114 Kochuveli – LTT Exp w.e.f 19/3/2015.
