TRAIN SERVICES RESUMED ON ROUTE
Train services have resumed on Konkan Railway route. After the Track Fit Certificate was given at 0205 hrs this morning, a light engine was successfully passed at the site at 0410 hrs. Thereafter, first passenger train to pass the site was 12618 Mangala Exp at 0500 hrs. This was followed by 12620 Matsyangandha Exp.
ADDITIONAL SUMMER SPECIAL TRAINS ON KONKAN RAILWAY
Good news to esteemed passengers ! It has been decided to run following Additional Summer Special Trains on Konkan Railway Route to clear extra rush of passengers in co-ordination with Central Railway. The details are as under :-
1) Train No. 01005/01006 Lokmanya Tilak (T) – Madgaon – Lokmanya Tilak (T) (Tatkal Special)
PERMANENT AUGMENTATION OF ERNAKULAM – OKHA EXP
Good news for passengers !! It has been decided to permanently augment Train no. 16338/16337 Ernakulam – Okha – Ernakulam Express with one 2-tier AC coach with immediate effect.
Passengers may kindly avail the same.

Good news for passengers !! It has been decided to permanently augment the following trains with one Second class Sleepar coach as per the details given below.
KONKAN RLY INTENSIFIES INITIATIVES FOR ITS CUSTOMERS DURING RAIL YATRI / UPBHOKTA PAKHWADA
Undertaking activities under the Rail Yatri/Upbhokta Pakhwada (Rail Passenger and Customer Facilitation Fortnight) which is being observed by all the zonal railways from 26th May to 9th June, 2015, Konkan Railway has launched its “Celebration of 25 Years of Sadar Seva”. With its Motto as ‘Sadar Seva’, Konkan Railway is scaling new heights in areas of passenger care and satisfaction as it celebrates its Silver Jubilee this year on 15th October. To commemorate the occasion, an Action Plan booklet was also released by Shri B P Tayal, CMD/KRCL, for compliance by all the employees of KRCL.
INDORE-KOCHUVELI SPECIAL TRAIN ON KR ROUTE
Good news for passengers !! It has been decided to run Superfast Express special train between Indore – Kochuveli – Indore during summer season via Konkan Railway route to clear extra rush of passengers in co-ordination with Western Railway. Details are as under.
Train no. 09310/09309 Indore – Kochuveli – Indore Superfast Express
Train no. 09310 Indore – Kochuveli will be run on June 9, 16, and 23. The train will leave from Indore at 2105 hrs and reach Kochuveli at 1910 hrs on Thursday.
KR EMPLOYEES PLEDGE THEIR SUPPORT TO WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY BY CYCLING
On the occasion of the World Environment Day, a group of Konkan Railway employees conducted a Cycle Rally at 0900 hrs from Konkan Railway’s Corporate Office at Belapur via Vashi, Airoli, Thane-Belapur Road, Kharghar and back to Belapur. On the occasion, CMD/KRCL, Shri Bhanu Prakash Tayal, also inaugurated a Cycle Stand for the employees at the Corporate Office building in order to draw more employees to take to cycling.
KR GETS ECO-FRIENDLY WITH GREEN ENERGY & PLANTATION ILLUMINATION LEVEL DOUBLES IN ALL TUNNELS
Contributing on a mega scale to energy conservation and environment preservation through its daily operations, Konkan Railway has now changed all the light fittings in its 91 tunnels to LEDs, thus reducing the Carbon foot-print considerably. Konkan railway has also taken to Plantation in a big way on an annual basis along its entire route which has given it the unique identification of “Garden Railway”.
KONKAN RLY GEARS UP FOR MONSOON
As the monsoon has arrived in Konkan region, Konkan Railway has completed all its planned safety works on its route from KOLAD (after Roha station of Central Railway) to THOKUR (before Mangalore station), and is geared up for the monsoon. Special attention has been laid on geo-safety works, like flattening of slopes, rock bolting, shotcreting inside tunnels, storm water drain cleaning / lining, construction of RCC retaining walls and loose scaling.
