Konkan Railway is running freight trains (24/7) to meet the requirement of essential items for the public throughout the country. Transportation of critical items is going to be very important in the next few days to mitigate the effects of the lockdown.

Konkan Railway is committed to run the special parcel train from KR section to various stations over Indian Railway, if volume and demand persists. The parcel train can carry essential commodities like medicines, medical equipments and other perishable items like fruits (mango) and vegetables.

While the whole country continues to be completely locked down due to the pandemic of Corona virus, Konkan Railway part of Indian Railways is fully committed to the welfare of the countrymen and is making all efforts to ensure availability of essential commodities through its uninterrupted freight services.

In continuation of the measures taken in the wake of COVID-19, Ministry of Railways has decided to extend the cancellation of passenger train services i.e all Mail/Express trains, premium trains, passenger trains on Indian Railways including Konkan Railway route till 24:00 hrs of 14th April, 2020.

However, freight train operations shall continue to ensure the supply of essential commodities.

Due to the pandemic of COVID-19, Indian Railway has suspended the operations of all passenger train services till 31st March 2020. Konkan Railway in co-ordination with Zonal Railways is operating only freight trains to ensure uninterrupted freight services for the availability of essential commodities.

In continuation of the precautionary measures in the wake of pandemic COVID-19, Railway Board has decided that all originating Mail / Express including premium trains and all originating passenger trains shall remain cancelled till 24:00 hrs of 31/03/2020.

Inconvenience cause is regretted. Passengers are requested to kindly note the same.

In continuation with the Press Release “Cancellation of Train services on 22.03.2020 on Konkan Railway” dated 21/03/2020, in the wake of the ‘Janata Curfew’ on Sunday amid the novel coronavirus crisis, the following trains have been canceled:

In order to facilitate rail passengers in availing facility of refund of tickets along with ensuring avoidance of crowded places and practice social distancing, Ministry of Railway has relaxed Refund Rules for PRS counter generated tickets as a special case.

All rules for e-ticket remain same as passenger does not need to come to Station for refund of ticket. This relaxation is for 3 months journey period i.e from 21st March - 21st June 2020. Relaxation in the Refund Rules for PRS counter generated tickets are as follows:

In continuation with the Press Release “Regulation of Train services on 22.03.2020 on Konkan Railway in wake of COVID-19” dated 21/03/2020, in the wake of the ‘Janata Curfew’ on Sunday amid the novel coronavirus crisis, the following trains have been canceled:

In the wake of Hon’ble Prime Minister's appeal for a ‘Janata Curfew’ on Sunday amid the novel coronavirus crisis, Train services will be regulated on 22nd March 2020 .

All passenger train services originating between midnight of 21st / 22nd March 2020 to 22:00 hrs of 22nd March 2020 will not run. However, the train services that are already on run at 7:00 hrs on the day will to run to the destinations.

Details of Canceled trains are as follows:

It has been decided to cancel the following trains due to the out-break of the pandemic COVID-19.

1) Train No. 11085 Lokmanya Tilak (T) – Madgaon Jn. AC Double Decker Bi-Weekly Express is canceled on 23rd, 26th & 30th March 2020.

2) Train No. 11086 Madgaon Jn. – Lokmanya Tilak (T) AC Double Decker Bi-Weekly Express is canceled on 24th , 27th & 31st March 2020.

3) Train No. 12223 Lokmanya Tilak (T) – Ernakulam Jn. AC Duranto Weekly Express is canceled on 21st , 24th, 28th & 31st March 2020.
