INTRODUCTION OF THE INDIA’S FIRST TEJAS SUPERFAST EXPRESS (Train No . 22119/22120) BETWEEN MUMBAI AND KARMALI

Hon’ble Minister for Railways has inaugurated  the high speed, air-conditioned Tejas Superfast Express between CST Mumbai and Karmali (Goa) on Konkan Railway Route for the first time on Indian Railways on 22 May 2017.

Trains in India are not just transport medium, but the heart and soul of India. As a tributes to Keshavsut the pioneer of modern Marathi poetry and for his contribution  in Marathi  literature & the spirit of the Nation, Hon’ble Railway Minister Shri Suresh Prabhu has decided to re-name the train no. 11003/11004 Dadar-Sawantwadi-Dadar RajyaRani Express as “Tutari Express” on his revolutionary  poem “Tutari”

Konkan Railway took various initiatives under able guidance of Hon’ble Railway Minister for the upliftment of Konkan Region by way of providing more and more passenger amenities/facilities on its railway stations which has facilitated in making the journey more comfortable.  

(A)    Free Wi-Fi facility at 28 Railway Stations on Konkan Railway:

It has been decided by Central Railway to revise the composition of Train No. 01119 / 01120 Ajni – Madgao – Ajni Special with immediate effect  to clear extra rush of passengers. Details are as under :-

Existing Composition : Total 18 Coaches =  2 Tier AC - 01 Coach, 3 Tier AC – 01 Coach, Sleeper – 12 Coach,     General – 02 Coach, SLR – 02.

Revised Composition : Total 19 Coaches = 2 Tier AC - 01 Coach, 3 Tier AC – 01 Coach,  Sleeper – 12 Coach,    General – 03 Coach, SLR – 02.

It has been decided by Northern Railway to augment coaches in following trains on temporary  basis to clear extra rush of passengers. Details are as under :-

Rashtriya Ekata Divas (National Unity Day) was observed on Konkan Railway on 31st October 2017 to commemmorate Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who had played important role in unifying the country. On this occassion  Konkan Railway Officers, Staff and their Families took pledge for Unity of Nation on various stations of Konkan Railway. Also “Ekata Daud” (Run for Unity) was organized in Konkan Rail Vihar, Nerul.

It has been decided by Southern Railway that following Summer Special trains on special fare are re-numbered and run as Suvidha specials Trains.  Details are as under :-

Train . No. 09457 Tirunelveli - Gandhidham Summer Special on Specials Fare will run as Train. No. 82913 Tirunelveli - Gandhidham Suvidha special (on 04/05/2017, 11/05/2017, 18/05/2017, 25/05/2017).

Train. No. 01066 Ernakulam – Mumbai CST Summer Special on Special Fare will run as Train. No. 82166 Ernakulam – Mumbai CST Suvidha Special (on 10/05/2017, 17/05/2017, 24/05/2017, 31/05/2017).

Existing Composition : Total 14 LHB Coaches = 1st AC- 01 Coach, 2 Tier AC - 02 Coach, 3 Tier   AC – 08 Coach, Pantry- 01, Generator cum SLR -  02 .
