With the announcement of proposed Kharepatan Station on the KR Route, the dream of the people staying in and around Kharepatan as well as surrounding areas will be fulfilled with the laying of Foundation Stone for the same by the Hon'ble Minister for Railways, Shri Suresh Prabhu. This was a long cherished dream of the people in Konkan Region.

 Uptil now, Orthopaedically Handicapped, Paraplegic Persons / Patients who were availing Rail Travel Concessions, if found travelling alone without an Escort, which was mandatory, were treated as travelling without ticket and were being charged with penalty as per the applicable rules issued from Ministry of Railways.

           
In terms of the instructions received from Ministry of Railways, Konkan Railway is observing “Rail Hamsafar Saptaah” from 26th May to 1st June 2016.

Good news for passengers !! It has been decided to run an additional trips of Special  Trains between  Gandhidham – Tirunelveli – Gandhidham  to clear extra rush  of passengers of summer vacation in co-ordination with Western  Railway. Details of train services are given as under :-

Good news for passengers !! It has been decided to augment Train No. 12617/ 12618 Ernakulam – Nizammuddin – Ernakulam  Mangala Express with  one  AC 2 tier Coach  on permanent basis. Details are as under :

1) Permanent augmentation of one AC 2 tier Coach to Train no. 12617 Ernakulam – Nizammuddin - Mangala Express  w.e.f. 19.06.2016.

2) Permanent augmentation of one AC 2 tier Coach to Train no. 12618  Nizammuddin - Ernakulam Mangala Express  w.e.f. 22.06.2016.

Passengers may avail the same.

Jan Sadharan Ticket Booking Sevak Scheme

Konkan Railway has appointed JTBS (Jan Sadharan Ticket Booking Sevak) for booking of the current tickets in the city area itself. Passengers can take benefit of the JTBS counter opened at Savarda, Ratnagiri, Kankavali, Sawantwadi, Madgaon and Surathkal towns over Konkan Railway route.

Passengers can book the current tickets from these JTBS locations upto 3 days in advance excluding date of journey.

Unreserved Special train for Mahaparinirvan Divas

It has been decided to run unreserved special train between Madgaon / Ratnagiri – Mumbai CST- Ratnagiri/ Madgaon to clear extra rush of passengers during Mahaparinirvan Divas in co-ordination with Central Railway. The details are as below:

A)  Madgaon – Mumbai CST – Madgaon

Train No. 00112  Madgaon – CSTM  will be run on  05/12/2014 and train No. 00111 CSTM  – Madgaon will be run on  07/12/2014.
