Train No. 02005/ 02006 LTT – Karmali- LTT double decker special trains were announced to clear extra rush of passengers on 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 30 October & 01, 03, 05, 07, 09, 11 November in down direction and 17, 19, 21, 23, 25, 27, 29, 31 October & 02, 04, 06, 08, 10, 12 November in up direction. The total seat capacity in single direction is 960. The date wise seat availability as on 29.10.2014 in these trains is as under :-

Passengers now have the facility of knowing the running status of trains on Konkan Railway route by dialling a dedicated toll-free number. Passengers can dial 18002661332 toll-free number from any location to know the status of trains. The enquiry can be made only for trains that are on Konkan Railway section from Roha to Thokur. Passengers can also dial the all-India train enquiry number 139.

During Ganpati Festival more than 200 Nos. Special Trains have been planned to cater to extra rush of passengers over Konkan region.
Immediately after Ganesh Chaturthi there is low demand from passengers which is likely to go up towards end of Ganpati festival.
It is noticed that only 125 No. Of Passengers are booked in Train No. 00116 Ratnagiri – LTT Special Train against capacity of 1350 passengers and only 282 passengers are booked in train No. 00115 LTT- RN Special. These passengers can be cleared by other trains running on same route.

RUNNING OF ONAM SPECIAL TRAINS ON KONKAN RAILWAY
Good news for passengers !! It has been decided to run following special trains on Konkan Railway route to clear extra rush of passengers during Onam Festival in co-ordination with Central Railway. The details are as under :-

Low Patronage of Holiday Special No. 00116/00115 Between Ratnagiri and Lokmanya Tilak (T)
On 1st September only 125 passengers had reserved their seats against availability of 1080 seats on train No 00116. Alternative trains were available for them therefore to avoid congestion on the route the same has been cancelled.
Inconvenience caused to the passengers is deeply regretted.

Konkan Railway in the Service of Ganapati Devotees of Konkan Region
From 22nd to 31st August 2014 Konkan Railway has run 42 Special trains from Mumbai area towards Konkan Region.
They have carried about 45,000 Nos of Devotees to their homes in the Konkan Region. It will be worth mentioning that out of 42 Specials maximum 07 were run on 27th August to take care of extra rush of passengers.

Special Measures by Konkan Railway for Ganesh Utsav 2014
Konkan Railway will be running more than 200 Ganpati Special trains between 22nd August to 13th September 2014.
In order to facilitate proper and punctual running of these trains for the convenience of passengers, Konkan Railway has severely restricted movement of Goods Trains, including RORO on its system.
