Flagging off of New Passenger train on Konkan Rly by Hon’ble Railway Minister

Good news for passengers going to temple town of Mookambika Devi !! Ministry of Railways has decided to introduce Train no. 56666/56665 Mookambika Road Byndoor – Kasargod – Mookambika Road Byndoor Passenger train on Konkan Railway route. The Hon’ble Minister for Railways, Shri Suresh Prabhu, will remotely flag off the train from Delhi on 09/02/2015. Details are as under:

Introduction of Thiruvananthapuram – H. Nizamuddin – Thiruvananthapuram Weekly Superfast Express Train

Ministry of Railways have decided to introduce new Train no. 22655/22656 Thiruvananthapuram – Hazrat Nizamuddin – Thiruvananthapuram Weekly Superfast Express (via Alappuzha) on Konkan Railway route. Hon’ble Minister for Railways, Shri Suresh Prabhu, will remotely flag off the train from Delhi on 11/02/2015 at 14.30hrs. Details are as under :

INTRODUCTION OF WEEKLY SUPERFAST EXPRESS TRAIN

Good news for passengers !! It has been decided to introduce following Weekly Superfast Express train on Konkan Railway route and via Kottayam in co-ordination with Southern Railway. The details are as under :-

PERMANENT AUGMENTATION OF TRAINS

Good news for passengers !! Additional coaches will be attached to the following trains on permanent basis. Details are as under :

1) Two additional Second Class Chair Car coaches to Train no. 12051/2052 Dadar-Karmali-Dadar Janshatabdi Exp w.e.f 19/2/2015.

2) One additional Second Class Sleeper coach to Train no. 22113 LTT-Kochuveli Exp w.e.f 21/2/2015.

3) One additional Second Class Sleeper coach to Train no. 22114 Kochuveli – LTT Exp w.e.f 23/2/2015.

Passengers may avail the same.

Recently on two occasions, there had been cases of theft of Elastic Rail Clips (ERC), Liners, Joggle fish plates and C-Clamps from railway track in Konkan Railway jurisdiction. Both the incidents occurred in a period of a fortnight in the month of January, 2015 between Adavali and Vilavade stations in Ratnagiri region. A total of 210 ERC, 139 Liners, 2 Joggle fish plates, and 2 C-Clamps were stolen.

In view of block taken by Central Railway between Apta and Pen section from 28/2/2015 to 3/3/2015, trains going via Konkan Rly route are likely to be regulated by Central Rly at its stations and hence are likely to run late. Train no. 50103/50104 Dadar-Ratnagiri-Dadar passenger will be partially cancelled between Diva and Dadar on 1/3/2015.

KONKAN RLY’S CONTRIBUTION TO HON’BLE PRIME MINISTER’S NATIONAL RELIEF FUND

Konkan Railway shares the sorrow of the people of Jammu & Kashmir for the loss of lives and property caused during the recent floods in the State. Though the loss is irreparable, the employees of Konkan Railway Corporation Limited and the Konkan Railway Women’s Cultural & Social Service Association (KRWC&SSA) have contributed a sum of ` 25 Lakh towards the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund as a small gesture towards providing relief to the affected people.

CENTRAL RLY MEGA BLOCK TO DELAY TRAINS GOING VIA KR ROUTE ON 9th JANUARY (FRIDAY)

On account of mega block by Central Railway on its section between Pen and Roha stations on 9th January (Friday), certain trains going via Konkan Railway route are likely to be regulated/rescheduled and are likely to run late as per details given below:

1) Train no. 19262 Porbandar-Kochuveli Exp will be regulated at Pen station from 1328 hrs to 1728 hrs and is likely to run late by about 4 hours.

HON’BLE RAILWAY MINISTER ANNOUNCES ADDITIONAL PASSENGER AMENITIES AT KANKAVALI RAILWAY STATION

The Hon’ble Minister for Railways, Shri Suresh Prabhu, announced upgradation of various passenger amenities at Kankavali station on Sunday, 11th January 2015. The upgradations include additional loop line at the station, widening of Platform no.1, provision of new ticket window at the Station, providing Escalator from station concourse to the Platform no.1 etc.

Good news for passengers !! An extra 3-tier AC coach will be attached to the following trains on permanent basis. Details are as under :

1) Train no. 22630 Tirunelveli – Dadar Exp w.e.f 4/2/2015 ex-Tirunelveli.

2) Train no. 22629 Dadar – Tirunelveli Exp w.e.f 6/2/2015 ex-Dadar.
