15th October marks a significant date as Konkan Railway celebrates its 28th foundation day this year, the day that bought to reality of the most challenging project by connecting amazing Konkan to the rest of India.

Good News for Passengers!!! It has been decided to attach one extra AC 3 tier coach to Train No 22475 / 22476 Hisar Jn. – Coimbatore – Hisar Jn. AC Express and Train No. 12284 / 12283 H. Nizamuddin – Ernakulam Jn. – H. Nizamuddin Duranto Express on temporary basis to clear extra rush of passengers during Pooja / Diwali / Chhat festival - 2018.

Father of Nation, Mahatma Gandhiji had always led a continuous struggle for cleanliness and sanitation throughout his life. The Gandhian movement for sanitation becomes a reference point for the attainment of the Swachh Bharat targets. To continue the legacy of Gandhiji, an initiative under the guidance of Hon'ble Minister for Railways, Shri Piyush Goyal, Konkan Railway formulated an Action Plan to celebrate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on 2nd October 2018 for bringing quantum improvement in the cleanliness at the railway stations and trains.

Good news for passengers!! It has been decided to extend the periodicity of Train No. 02198 / 02197 Jabalpur - Coimbatore - Jabalpur Special (Weekly) in co-ordination with West Central Railway to clear the extra rush of passengers.

Train No. 02198 Jabalpur – Coimbatore Special (Weekly) will leave from Jabalpur at 11:00 hrs every Saturday from 13th October 2018 to 27th October 2018.Train will reach Coimbatore at 05:00 Hrs on the third day.

It has been decided by Ministry of Railways to change the days of running of train No. 22629 Dadar – Tirunelveli Weekly Express ex. Dadar from Friday to Thursday, which will be effective from 06/12/2018 (Thursday). The details are as under :

Mahatma Gandhi had once famously said “sanitation is more important than political freedom.” This statement underscored the criticality of sanitation in society. Inspired by these words, the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India gave a clarion call to the Nation to fight filth and open defacation, change old habits and achieve a Swachh Bharat by 2019, to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

Nation will be celebrating the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi commencing 2nd October, 2018. To suitably commemorate the occasion, Konkan Railway is organizing Swachhta-Hi-Sewa Pakhwara from 15th September 2018 to     2nd October 2018

Konkan Railway, under the initiative and guidance of Hon'ble Minister for Railways, Shri Piyush Goyal, has formulated an Action Plan to bring the quantum improvement in the cleanliness at the stations and trains.

It has been decided to augment the coaches in following trains to clear extra rush of passengers during Ganpati festival – 2018 in co-ordination with Central Railway.The details are as under :

I. Attachment of additional 2 Tier AC Coach in Train No. 12051 / 12052 Dadar – Madgaon Janshatabdi Express:

Konkan Railway is running 202 trips of special trains during Ganesh festival 2018 in coordination with Central and western Railway from Mumbai / Pune / Ajni / Ahmedabad to Ratnagiri / Sawantwadi / Zarap / Pernem / Thivim / Madgaon / Mangaluru. Additional coaches have been attached to Ganapati Special trains this year due to which the passenger carrying capacity of these Ganpati special trains are more as compared to last year.
