Good news for passengers !!  It has been decided to extend the period of special trains running between Ahmedabad-Mangalore-Ahmedabad and Gandhidham-Tirunelveli-Gandhidham to clear the extra rush of passengers during Puja / Diwali festival  in co-ordination with Western Railway. Details are given as under :-

Konkan Railway is a vital link between Mumbai and Mangalore traversing through a distance of 741 Kms along the Western Ghats covering Four States viz. Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka & Kerala. It’s entire stretch is very unique, picturesque & comprises of difficult terrain which has been overcome by Konkan Railway and therefore it is recognized as an Engineering Marvel. It’s journey has been arduous and challenging during the construction phase which started in the year 1990. This year Konkan Railway is celebrating its 26th foundation day on 15th october 2016.

To recall, our Hon'ble PM shri Narendra Modiji had launched the Swachch Bharat Abhiyan on 02/10/2014, which was applauded by one and all. To mark the beginning of the third year, cleanlinesss drives were carried out not only in Railways but entire India actively contributed to this Abhiyan.

Carrying forward the good work done under Swachch Bharat Abhiyan, Konkan Railway carried out various cleanliness activities at Stations and its office premises on Gandhi Jayanti I.e 02/10/2016 to achieve the objectives of Govt. of India.

Good news for passengers !! It has been decided to run Special Trains between  Dadar - Sawantwadi Road - Dadar  &  Dadar - Ratnagiri - Dadar on Konkan Railway route to clear extra rush of passengers during Pooja / Diwali  Festival in co-ordination with  Central Railway. The details are as under :-

Good news for passengers !! An additional 2-tier AC coach will be attached to the following train on temporary basis  by Northern Railway to clear extra rush of passengers during ensuing Pooja, Dipawali and Chhat Festival. Details are as under :

One additional 2-tier AC coach to Train No. 12284 Nizamuddin-Ernakulam Duranto Express with effect from 01.10.2016 to  12.11.2016 and  Train No. 12283 Ernakulam- Nizamuddin Express from 04.10.2016 to 15.11.2016.

Train will have 17 Coaches after augmentation.

Passengers may avail the services.

Nine-days Swachhta Saptah from 17th  to 25th  September as per directives from the Railway Board across Konkan Railway is being organized. it is a part of nationwide Swachhta Abhiyan. Motto of cleanliness drive is coined as Swachh Rail-Swachh Bharat.

In continuation to the erlier Press Release issued on 01.09.2016 regarding running of  Special train on Special fare  between Gandhidham – Tirunelveli – Gandhidham (Weekly) to clear extra rush of passengers during Puja and Diwali Festival, Southern Railway has adivsed that Train No. 09457 Tirunelveli – Gandhidham (Weekly) Special Train on Special fare will run as Suvidha Special with revised Train No. 09459 on following date of service only.
