HON'BLE MINISTER FOR RAILWAYS SHRI SURESH PRABHU LAYS THE FOUNDATION STONE FOR PROPOSED ACHIRNE STATION

Taking into account the inconvenience and hardships being faced by the people staying in and around Achirne in District of Sindhudurg, Hon'ble Minister for Railways, Shri Suresh Prabhu has laid the Foundation Stone for a new station at Achirne, in order to make their dream come true for their comfortable journey on Konkan Railway Route.

With the initiative of Hon'ble Railway Minister, Shri Suresh Prabhu, this proposal which was conceived jointly by Railway Ministry & Government of Maharashtra, is finally seeing light of the day with the identification of Shapoorji Pallonji Corporation Pvt. Ltd. (SPCPL) as PPP Partner of KRCL.

BOOOKING OF SPECIAL TRAINS ON KONKAN RAILWAY ROUTE
Booking for Train No. 01005, Karmali-Lokmaya Tilak Terminus Reserved Special and Train No. 01042 Karmali- Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Reserved Special will be opened with effect from 09/08/16.
Passengers may avail of the services.
RUNNING OF WEEKEND RESERVED SPECIAL TRAINS ON KONKAN RAILWAY ROUTE
Good news for passengers !! it has been decided to run August Weekend Special Trains between Nagpur-Karmali-Lokmaya Tilak Teminus and Lokmaya Tilak Terminus-Karmali-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus to clear extra rush of passengers in co-ordination with Central Railway. COMMERCIAL HALT TO TRAINS ON KONKAN RAILWAY ROUTE
Good news for passengers !! It has been decided by Ministry of Railways to provide Commercial Halt to following trains at Ratnagiri with effect from 01.10.2016. Accordingly timings of Commercial Stoppages of the train passing through Konkan Railway are given as under :-

PERMANENT AUGMENTATION OF COACHES
It has been decided by North Western Railway to replace one First AC & Third AC Composite Coach with one First AC & Second AC Composite Coach on permanent basis in train No. 12977 /12978 Ajmer – Ernakulam – Ajmer 'Marusagar Express'. The details are given as under :-
1. One First AC & Third AC Composite Coach will be replaced with one First AC & Second AC Composite Coach on permanent basis in Train No. 12978 Ajmer - Ernakulam Marusagar Express from 11th November 2016.
TEMPORARY AUGMENTATION OF COACHES
Good news for passengers !! An additional Sleeper Coaches will be attached to the following trains on temporary basis by Western Railway. Details are given as under :
1) Two additional Sleeper Coaches will be attached to Train No. 09009 Mumbai Central – Karmali Ganpati Special on 03.09.2016.
Two additional Sleeper Coaches will be attached to Train No. 09010 Karmali – Mumbai Central Ganpati Special on 03.09.2016.
2) One additional Sleeper Coach will be attached to Train No. 09418 Ahmedabad- Karmali Ganpati Special on 03.09.2016.
