FOR THE PEOPLE OF RAJAPUR TALUKA – THE DREAM OF STATION AT SOUNDAL COMES TRUE ON KONKAN ROUTE

There was a long standing demand from the people of Rajapur taluka to have a new station at Soundal between Vilawade and Rajapur Stations. Soundal is at a very high embankment of 20-25 mtrs and the gradient was also found to be hostile for having a station. However, taking into account the difficulties faced by the people of Soundal and nearby villagers the Hon’ble Railway Minister Shri.Suresh Prabhu directed Konkan Railway administration to find out the feasibility and possibility for providing the station at Soundal to fulfill the demand.

GOOD NEWS FOR PASSENGERS INTRODUCTION OF DEMU SERVICES IN GOA CONNECTING PERNEM.

There was a demand from the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa for doubling of Konkan Railway track in Goa state. He also demanded suburban like services should be started connecting different stations of Konkan Railway in Goa State. He stressed the need for starting atleast one or two DEMU service without waiting for the doubling of the tracks. Taking this into account the Hon’ble Minister for Railways   Shri Suresh Prabhu had issued the instructions to Konkan Railway to look into the feasibility of introducing a DEMU service at the earliest.

PERMANENT AUGMENTATION OF TRAINS

Good news for passengers !! An additional 2-tier AC coach will be attached to the following trains on permanent basis. Details are as under :

1) One additional 2-tier AC coach to Train no.12432 Nizamuddin- Trivandrum Exp w.e.f 12/07/2015.

2) One additional 2-tier AC coach to Train no. 12431 Trivandrum – Nizamuddin  Exp w.e.f 14/07/2015.

CANCELLATION OF TRAIN ON KONKAN RAILWAY ROUTE

As per the notification received from Southern Railway, Train No. 22635/22636   Mangalore – Madgaon- Mangalore Express will be temporary cancelled with effect from 16.11.2015 for 30 days as major repairing  work will be carried out at pit line No. 3 of Mangalore Yard.

Passengers may kindly note the same for their information. Inconvenience caused on this account  is regretted.

KONKAN RAILWAY PROPOSES CCTV SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM AT SEVENTEEN STATIONS ON ITS ROUTE

Hon’ble Minister for Railways, Shri Suresh Prabhu is concerned about the safety and security of its esteemed passengers. In order to strengthen the same, Konkan Railway Administration has now proposed to install CCTV Surveillance System at Seventeen Stations viz. Kolad, Mangaon, Khed, Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Kankavali, Sindhudurg, Kudal, Sawantwadi Road, Pernem, Karmali, Canacona, Karwar, Gokarna Road, Bhatkal, Udupi and Surathkal. At present, CCTV Surveillance System has already been installed at Thivim & Madgaon Stations.

GOOD NEWS FOR ESTEEMED PASSENGERS ON KONKAN ROUTE DURING GANESH FESTIVAL 2015

Hon’ble Minister for Railways, Shri Suresh Prabhu has announced and issued instructions to run 224 services during the ensuing Ganesh Festival for the convenience of esteemed passengers travelling to and fro Konkan Region on this festive occasion. Ganesh Festival is being celebrated in a grand scale in the Konkan Region and taking into account the hardships being faced by the people staying in Konkan Region, this decision was taken by the Hon’ble Minister to mitigate their inconvenience.
