On 4th November 2025, under “Operation Nanhe Farishte,” a proactive intervention at Udupi Railway Station ensured the safety of a runaway minor.

During a routine inspection at the station’s portico area, IPF C&I Karwar / Udupi, along with CT Shri Sunil K.C. and CT Shri  Reminmohan, found a 16-year-old girl from Madhya Pradesh sitting alone in a suspicious manner. On enquiry, it was revealed that she had run away from home without informing her parents.

Konkan Railway’s Roll-on Roll-off (Ro-Ro) service, a cost-effective solution enabling loaded trucks to be transported on railway wagons, continues to enhance freight efficiency along the Konkan Railway route.

The first rake, with Ro-Ro wagons carrying up to 57 tons, commenced on 05th November 2025. The second rake with the same enhanced capacity has now been introduced from 03rd December 2025.

Good news for passengers!!! It has been decided to run following special trains to clear the extra rush of passengers in co-ordination with Southern Railway. Details are as under :

Train No. 06083/06084 Nagercoil Jn. - Madgaon Jn.- Nagercoil Jn. Express Special : 

Train No. 06083 Nagercoil Jn. - Maodgaon Jn. Express Special will leave every Tuesday from Nagercoil Jn. at 11:40 hrs from 23/12/2025 to 06/01/2026. The train will reach Maodgaon Jn. at 08:50 hrs on the next day.

To ensure safe and punctual train operations, Konkan Railway has been closely monitoring rampant instances of Alarm Chain Pulling (ACP) reported on Train No. 12742 Patna–Vasco Express. In order to curb the ACP cases, an ambush check was organised by Konkan Rly RPF in between Madgaon & Thivim on 01/12/25, There was ACP at outer signal of Karmali station & a large number of people unauthorisedly deboarded the train in between section. 

Konkan Railway continues to strengthen its culture of safety and vigilance through its proactive ‘On-the-Spot Cash Award’ initiative, aimed at recognising employees who identify safety threats in real time and take immediate preventive action. This initiative has been introduced by Shri Santosh Kumar Jha, CMD/KRCL, as a way to encourage prompt reporting and safety responsiveness further reinforces KRCL’s uncompromising commitment to passenger and operational safety while motivating staff across all sections to remain alert and vigilant.
