Konkan Railway’s Roll-on Roll-off (Ro-Ro) service, a cost-effective solution enabling loaded trucks to be transported on railway wagons, continues to enhance freight efficiency along the Konkan Railway route.

The first rake, with Ro-Ro wagons carrying up to 57 tons, commenced on 05th November 2025. The second rake with the same enhanced capacity has now been introduced from 03rd December 2025.

Each rake consists of:

• 15 BRN wagons capable of carrying trucks up to 57 MT
   
• 35 BOXN wagons capable of carrying trucks up to 50 MT

Guidelines:

1. Maximum weight for BRN wagons: 57 MT, BOXN wagons: 50 MT
    
2. Enhanced capacity applies only to these specific rakes.
    
3. For other rakes, the maximum weight remains 50 MT
    
4. Charges for excess weight (50–57 MT): Rs. 800/- per MT + applicable GST

The increased capacity benefits transporters and industries moving Iron & Steel, Marble, Tiles, Construction Materials, and other heavy consignments over the Konkan Railway network.
